With a multitude of options to choose from, ADSL services are still a mainstream service for many connectivity requirements. They are often found as part of backup solutions for keeping communications live, and form the backbone of SA’s home and business connections. ADSL services remain an inexpensive and easy-to-manage connectivity choice.

While services from various ADSL providers offer different merits, there are two key considerations when choosing ADSL: whether to use a Home vs a Business account, and whether one needs a capped or an uncapped service.

Business accounts generally receive preferential service and are focused on quality and prioritising work-related traffic during business hours. Home accounts are designed to eliminate cost barriers to connectivity, and typically focus on the more common traffic uses such as email and web browsing.

Capped services are useful when the amount of data used is reliably known. For instances where data use is large and where the associated usage policies are not a hindrance, uncapped services are usually preferred.

As a reseller of Telkom DSL line services, Adept relies on the physical lines within the Telkom retail domain. Please note that Telkom’s DSL services are offered as best-effort, with no Service Level Agreement or associated guarantees as to service quality or availability.

Clients are required to have a functional Telkom line capable of supporting ADSL in order to make use of the above products and services.

Adept is able to upgrade and transfer management of clients’ existing lines in order to consolidate product management. Clients can keep management of Telkom lines as their own responsibility, but in such cases, they will be required to handle all Telkom-related enquiries.
